Brewers' finale with Pirates postponed by rain

Game to be made up as part of straight twin bill in Pittsburgh July 14

PITTSBURGH -- After watching it rain for two hours and one minute past the scheduled first-pitch time at PNC Park on Wednesday, the Pirates and Brewers were left to try again another day.
The series finale between the two teams was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader in Pittsburgh on July 14, with the first game starting at 11:35 a.m. CT. The twin bill will turn a four-game series into a five-game set just before the All-Star break, as the Brewers finish a stretch of 20 straight game days.
It was Milwaukee's first rainout this season.
, who was originally scheduled to start Wednesday, will pitch Thursday's opener of a four-game series against the Cardinals at 7:10 p.m. CT instead.  , Chase Anderson, and  will follow Suter in the series. What the changes mean for rookie , who was originally scheduled to make his Miller Park debut on Sunday, remain to be seen. The Brewers are off on Monday and won't need a fifth starter until five days later.
For a few fleeting moments Wednesday, it appeared the game would go on. Suter and Pirates starter started getting loose in the outfield, and the Pirates announced a 7:40 p.m. CT first pitch. But suddenly Suter retreated to the dugout, and the grounds crew covered the field again.
Kuhl and company waited it out in the bullpen for two hours before the game was finally called.
