Brewers players, special guests to take over the beer taps and drop the price this Sunday

Current players Vogelbach and Houser; alumni, broadcasters and executives to guest bartend prior to Sunday game; prices rolled back to 1990s during tap takeover

MILWAUKEE – If we truly were headed back to the 1990’s this weekend, Greg Vaughn would be donning a Milwaukee Brewers uniform and hitting home runs at Milwaukee County Stadium.

Instead, Vaughn will spend the final afternoon of ‘90s Weekend and Robin Yount Bobblehead Day this Sunday, July 11 as a guest bartender at American Family Field.

The former Brewers outfielder will be one of 16 aspiring tenders - alumni, current players, broadcasters and executives - for the “Brewers Tap Takeover” from 11:40 a.m. (when gates open) to 1:30 p.m. at the First and Third Base Ward Bars on the Field Level.

Even better, during the Takeover hours of 11:40 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Brewers will celebrate ‘90s Weekend by rolling back beer prices at the two Ward Bars to 1990s County Stadium pricing.

Brewers pitcher Adrian Houser and first baseman Daniel Vogelbach will join Vaughn as guest bartenders, as will former Brewers infielder Jim Gantner and broadcasters Jeff Levering, Lane Grindle, Tim Dillard, Sophia Minnaert, Dario Melendez and Vinny Rottino.

Also jumping in behind the bar are President of Baseball Operations David Stearns, President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger, Chief Financial Officer Dan Fumai and Special Assistant to the President of Baseball Operations Doug Melvin. Bernie Brewer and Barrelman will join in on the fun, which will feature 16 oz domestic draft beer for $4 (plus tax) at the Barrel Bars located at the First Base and Third Base Wards.

“In the last homestand, Freddy Peralta took to the taps in our first guest bartender appearance, and the response from fans was tremendous,” Schlesinger said. “Sunday is also our Robin Yount Bobblehead giveaway, so we are combining two fan favorites – beer and Bobbles – for one game.”

Tickets are available now to see the first-place Brewers at Brewers.com, the American Family Field Box Office and at 1-800-933-7890.
