Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Set for Saturday, September 28

September 19th, 2019

MILWAUKEE – Time is running out to register for the eighth annual Brewers Mini-Marathon, presented by PNC Bank. The event, which is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. CT on Saturday, September 28, gives runners the option of conquering a half marathon, 10K or 5K, with each course leading participants through Miller Park along the warning track before finishing outside on Frederick Miller Way.

All participants will receive an exclusive race shirt and finishers’ medal, as well as a ticket voucher to a select 2020 Brewers regular-season home game. Course information can be found at BrewersMini.com.

“The Brewers Mini-Marathon is something the residents of the Greater Milwaukee area look forward to each year,” said Cecelia Gore, executive director of Brewers Community Foundation. “This event represents a great opportunity for members of our community to join together to support a worthy cause while also benefitting their own well-being by running courses that take them throughout our wonderful city.”

PNC Bank, the presenting sponsor of the Brewers Mini-Marathon, has supported the Crew for almost a decade and secured naming rights for the PNC Club Level at Miller Park in 2010.

“This family-friendly event is a great way to engage our fans and community to compete while improving their health and well-being,” said Chris Goller, PNC regional president for Wisconsin. “It also provides an opportunity to attract new visitors to explore Milwaukee’s fantastic neighborhoods, incredible restaurants and diverse tourist attractions.”

The Field-Level seating bowl at Miller Park will be open for spectators to join the excitement and cheer for their favorite runners as they come through the stadium and see themselves on the scoreboard. The Post-Race Tailgate Party, which will take place in the Aaron Lot, will feature live music by Milwaukee’s own Tallboy Milwaukee, refreshments available for purchase, displays by race sponsors and two complimentary cold beers for each finisher over the age of 21.

Since inception, the Brewers Mini-Marathon has partnered with the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund and encouraged participants to fundraise in support of childhood cancer research. Since 1976, the MACC Fund has contributed over $60 million to childhood cancer and blood disorder research. The Brewers Mini-Marathon participants have raised over $250,000 in the past seven years.

Volunteers are still needed for the event. Those interested can find more information and sign up for available shifts at BrewersMini.com. All volunteers will receive an “event crew” shirt as well as a ticket voucher to a select 2020 Brewers regular-season home game.

Online registration prices are $95 for the half marathon, $75 for the 10K and $40 for the 5K until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, September 25. Race packets can be picked up during Packet Pick-Up at Miller Park Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27. Registrations will not be accepted at Packet Pick Up.
