Director, Guest Services & Quality Assurance
As the St. Louis Cardinals Director, Guest Services & Quality Assurance, Cindy Richards is responsible for managing the Cisco VOIP Phone System for the Cardinals and the team's concessionaire Sportservice, as well as managing Guest Services for full-time staff and event personnel. Cindy manages and implements the Team's Team employee programs for over 2300 seasonal employees and assists with usher payroll and managing the usher uniform system.
Following in her father Jack's footsteps, Cindy started working for the Cardinals as an usher in 1984. Cindy joined the front office as a part-time administrative assistant in 1988 and was promoted to a full-time position in 1990. Cindy served as a full-time Operations Coordinator before being promoted to her current position of Manager of Stadium Operations in 2005. Cindy has worked her entire professional career with the Cardinals - a span of 30 seasons, while her father is in his 57rd season with the team.
Over the years, Cindy has served on numerous planning committees including the 2009 All-Star Planning and Coordination Team. She also served on the new Stadium Project Technology Design and Implementation Team. As a part of the Stadium Operations team, she was an integral part of building the new Busch Stadium. Cindy assisted with design, décor and set up of the new ballpark outfitting the facility with new furniture, a state of the art security camera system, security keys and a voice over internet phone system.
Cindy has also served on the designed team for usher uniforms since 1988, assisted with the transition to new usher uniforms and a new union dues and payroll system. Cindy has worked many Postseason games and special events - - including three World Series and the 2009 All Star Game. Cindy has been recognized for her role in two Presidential visits to Busch Stadium - - one with President Bush in 2004 and the other with President Obama in 2009. Cindy served on the 204, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 Post Season Coordination Teams, as well as the 2009 All-Star Planning & Coordination Team and is currently part of the Cardinals Communication and Technology Committees.
When she's not at the stadium, Cindy loves reading, and is involved in numerous fundraisers at her church and has been deeply involved with the annual MS 50 mile Challenge Walk since 2002. For the last ten years, Cindy has coordinated an annual soccer tournament to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes - - a cause she became involved with after a classmate in her son's class died from the disease and later when her niece was diagnosed with it.
Cindy is a 1988 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and attended Florissant Valley Community College. Cindy and her husband John live in Florissant with their daughter Kelsi, son Corey and grandson Caden.
