Giants welcome Dodgers, Phillies and Braves to town
Homestand features: Sergio Romo Gnome and Giants announcers bottle stopper
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - The World Champion San Francisco Giants return to AT&T Park for a ten-game homestand against the Los Angeles Dodgers, May 3-5, Philadelphia Phillies, May 6-8 and the Atlanta Braves, May 9-12.
Friday, May 3, is Metallica Night at AT&T Park. Special event ticket holders will receive a collector's edition Metallica Giants hat. Members of the band will take part in pre-game festivities including the singing of the National Anthem and throwing out the first pitch.
On Saturday, May 4, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Giants World Champions License Plate Frame, presented by State Farm.
On Sunday, May 5, the Giants will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with cultural performers on the field prior to the game. The first 30,000 fans will receive a Sergio Romo Gnome, presented by Good Neighbor Pharmacy. Special event ticket holders will be able to attend the pre-game Cinco de Mayo fiesta in Seals Plaza from 3pm-5pm and will also receive a Cinco de Mayo edition Sergio Romo Gnome. Following the game, all kids 14-years and younger are invited to come run the bases, presented by See's Candies.
Monday, May 6, is Japanese Heritage Night at AT&T Park. Special event tickets include admission to the pre-game festival in Seals Plaza from 5pm-7pm and a limited edition Japanese-themed Giants scarf. Prior to the game, the Giants will honor Japanese American veterans of WWII and Korea in a ceremony at home plate. Six veterans of WWII and the Korean War will take part, representing their comrades in the 100th Infantry Battalion, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the Military Intelligence Service. These veterans were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal--our nation's highest civilian honor--in Washington, D.C. in 2011. Congressional Gold Medal and Bronze Star recipient Lawson Sakai will throw out the first pitch.
The San Francisco Giants along with the San Francisco Education Fund will honor their All Star Teachers in a pregame ceremony on Monday, May 6. The San Francisco Education Fund believes that strong public schools are critical to San Francisco's visibility and the community must take action to ensure their success. This public call to action seeks to thank San Francisco public school teachers for their professionalism, dedication, and work on behalf of our City's young people. We are trying to mobilize everyone that lives or works in San Francisco to thank a teacher.
On Tuesday, May 7, the Giants will host their second annual Off the Cove event. Special event ticket holders will have access to the pre-game food truck festival on Terry Francois Boulevard starting at 5pm and will receive an Off the Cove-themed t-shirt.
It is also Say Hey Tuesday as CSN Bay Area will host Chronicle Live from Willie Mays Plaza. Fans are invited to come out early and watch their favorite sports analysts.
The Giants wrap up their homestand with a four-game series against the Atlanta Braves, May 9-12. On Thursday, May 9, the Giants will host LGBT Night. The special event ticket package includes access to the pre-game party in Seals Plaza from 5pm-7pm and a limited-edition LGBT-themed Giants t-shirt.
Thursday is also the Giants Food Drive, presented by Visa, benefitting the San Francisco and Marin Food Bank. The first 5,000 fans who donate food or $5 will receive a tote bag.
Saturday, May 11, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Giants Announcers Bottle Stopper, presented by See's Candies. It is also the Junior Giants Glove Drive presented by Bank of America. Fans who donate $10 or a glove will receive a Buster Posey 2012 NL MVP pin or a 2012 World Champions pin.
Saturday is also Wine Fest at AT&T Park. Special event tickets include access to the pre-game Wine Fest in Seals Plaza from 11am-1pm, a complimentary tasting card, and a collector's edition 2012 World Series wine stopper. Several wineries throughout Northern California will be in attendance to provide tastings.
Sunday, May 12, is Strike Out Cancer Day at AT&T Park. The Giants and Genentech will feature the stories of cancer survivors during the pre-game ceremony. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Mother's Day Giants World Champions Charm Necklace, presented by Genentech. Sunday is also Little League Day. Prior to the game, little leaguers who purchased special event tickets will be able participate in the Little League Parade and a Q&A session with Giants players and coaches. Following the game on Sunday, all kids 14-years and younger and moms are invited to come run the bases, presented by See's Candies.
