Brandt Fuse is an illustrator based in Daly City, California. His artwork reflects his Japanese American heritage, Hawaii upbringing, and love of the ocean and sea creatures. The colorful graphics and characters are primarily featured on a line of tshirts and stickers called Sumofish, a brand he operates with his wife/business partner Joni.
The koi fish is a symbol of strength and perseverance in Japanese culture. I thought it would be a good representation of the Giants, and depicted one battling the currents of the San Francisco Bay. Iconic Golden Gate bridge in background, and a baseball blowfish and daruma shark swim by. Another Japanese icon- hanafuda moon card is featured in the wave. This scene celebrates the Giants, San Francisco Bay, and Japanese culture.
