Carpenter, Santangelo returning as Nats' TV duo

WASHINGTON -- Bob Carpenter was offered a contract to return as the TV play-by-play voice of the Nationals, while his partner, F.P. Santangelo, had his option picked up for the 2013 season, according to two baseball sources.

Carpenter, who is expected to sign the contract soon, and Santangelo will work together for the third consecutive season for the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network. Neither Carpenter nor Santangelo were available for comment.

Carpenter has been with the Nationals since 2006 and is known for the catch phrase, "See -- you -- later," whenever a Nationals player hits a home run.

Santangelo, who is Carpenter's fifth TV partner, is best known for the catch phrase, "Are you kidding me?" whenever he sees a great play on the field.
