KANSAS CITY -- Veteran Mark Trumbo, who has battled back from surgery to repair his right knee, will meet the Orioles in St. Petersburg on Monday and be activated for Baltimore's series against Tampa Bay and the final weeks of the season.
"He has gone through a lot this season to reach [Monday]," Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said. "I'm excited to have Mark."
Hyde said he'll monitor Trumbo and consider matchups to determine how much Trumbo will play.
"He's not going to be able to play every day," Hyde said. "It's going to be a day-to-day thing with him."
Trumbo hit .261 last season with 17 homers and 44 runs batted in.
