They told him his four-seam fastball, while he threw it hard, was extremely average from a metrics standpoint. They encouraged him to throw more two-seamers (sinkers) to have more arm-side run and depth...“It pretty much entirely changed the landscape of my career. Up until that point I threw exclusively four-seams and I would get away with it at the lower levels in the Minor Leagues because it was hard,” Foley told reporters in 2023...Is very into coffee and enjoys finding new coffee shops in the cities he travels to on the road...With the Tigers, he was part of a group of guys who’d go search for new coffee shops. Missed most of the 2025 season while recovering from right shoulder surgery to repair his anterior capsule, performed by Dr. Keith Meister in May...Optioned to Triple-A Toledo out of Spring Training with Detroit...Appeared in five games for the Mud Hens, striking out nine in 6.2 scoreless innings...Landed on the injured list at Toledo in late April and had his shoulder surgery in May.
