Jazz Chisholm Jr. took his talents to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday.
With the Yankees off on Monday -- they’ll begin a three-game set against the Guardians at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday -- Chisholm made an appearance with Fallon at his usual set in Manhattan’s Rockefeller Center.
Entertaining as he always is, Chisholm got into a variety of topics with Fallon. First, Fallon pressed Chisholm about the May 15 game against the Mets, when Chisholm wore Giancarlo Stanton’s pants and subsequently broke out of a slump.
“Let me use your pants today. I can’t find the pants I’m looking for,” Chisholm recalled about his conversation with Stanton. “It was at the last second.”
The two then pivoted to a conversation about Chisholm being one of the few Jordan brand MLB athletes today. Chisholm talked about his interaction with Michael Jordan as a kid, when the legendary basketball player was playing in a celebrity softball game in Chisholm’s home in the Bahamas. When Chisholm tried to approach Jordan for an autograph, he was met with a comment that never left him.
“Make me want your autograph one day, kid,” Jordan said to Chisholm.
The segment wrapped up with Chisholm talking about watching his grandma play softball games in the Bahamas and the Jazz Chisholm Jr. Foundation. Chisholm talked about starting his foundation as a way to give back to kids in a similar position as him when he was younger, recounting the times when people went out of their way to support him.
