Rangers starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery tossed three scoreless innings in his fourth rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday night.
The veteran left-hander is on his way back from his second Tommy John surgery, which he underwent in March 2025.
Montgomery looked sharp on Tuesday, scattering five hits and recording three strikeouts without issuing a walk. He threw 40 pitches (26 strikes) while mixing in five pitches and averaging 90.7 mph with his sinker.
The 33-year-old last appeared in the Majors with the D-backs in 2024, when he pitched to a 6.23 ERA across 25 appearances (21 starts) in 117 innings. His last appearance for the Rangers came in Game 2 of the 2023 World Series.
The Rangers signed Montgomery to a one-year deal in Spring Training in hopes that he would fortify their rotation in the second half of the season. It may very well play out that way, especially with the absence of right-hander Jack Leiter, who is rehabbing from a right ankle injury and hopes to make a late August to early September return.
Montgomery owns a 4.03 ERA in parts of eight Major League seasons with four clubs.
