Yankees announce launch of Official Yankees Ticket Exchange for fans
Yankees Ticket Exchange to Offer Season Ticket Licensees a Low 5% Seller Fee on the Industry’s Most Secure Site Through Exclusive Partnership with Ticketmaster
The New York Yankees announced today that it is partnering with Ticketmaster to create "Yankees Ticket Exchange," the only official online resale marketplace for Yankees fans to purchase and resell tickets to Yankees games. "Yankees Ticket Exchange" can be accessed online through "My Yankees Account" for Season Ticket Licensees, and will utilize the resale platform powered by Ticketmaster’s integrated barcode transfer technology, which validates all tickets purchased to assure authenticity, and then reissues the tickets with new barcodes when the tickets are resold.
“The Yankees Ticket Exchange will be a safe, convenient, reliable and expedient way to purchase and sell guaranteed authentic Yankees tickets," said Hal Steinbrenner, the Yankees Managing General Partner. “It is unfortunate that unscrupulous resellers utilize deceptive practices and tactics and employ unofficial websites, all of which give rise to counterfeit tickets. Fans must be careful when purchasing from unauthorized websites as the tickets they are purchasing from the unauthorized resale websites could be counterfeit, stolen or otherwise void and as such will not permit the purchaser to be admitted into Yankee Stadium. We encourage fans to post and purchase tickets only through "Yankees Ticket Exchange," the only authorized resale website for the Yankees and yankees.com," said Steinbrenner.
So as to protect fans, "Yankees Ticket Exchange" is integrated with Ticketmaster's exclusive barcode verification technology providing fans with the ultimate in security and convenience. Additionally, since "Yankees Ticket Exchange" is completely integrated with Ticketmaster, within minutes of purchasing tickets, most tickets will be instantly available for fans to print. Specifically, Season Ticket Licensees who manage their tickets through their “My Yankees Account” will be entitled to post their tickets by logging on to their “My Yankees Account.”
Tickets may be purchased and electronically delivered as late as three (3) hours before game time. As an added benefit, the sellers' resale fee for those Ticket Licensees who manage and post their tickets through their "My Yankees Account" is limited to 5 percent of the purchase price of the resale transaction, as opposed to a resale fee of 15 percent of the purchase price, which is the current fee structure of other resale solutions. And, the "Yankees Ticket Exchange," will feature exclusive re-issue and print-at-home technology, which will enable fans to conveniently download and print their tickets.
“Yankees Ticket Exchange” will be available for all Yankees regular season and Spring Training games to be played at Yankee Stadium and George M. Steinbrenner Field.
