Yankees Announce Non-Roster Invitees to 2026 Spring Training

YANKEES ANNOUNCE NON-ROSTER INVITEES TO 2026 SPRING TRAINING

The New York Yankees announced today that they have invited 27 players to 2026 Major League spring training. The number of players currently scheduled to report to spring training is 67.

Of the non-roster invitees (NRIs), 17 were not in the Yankees organization in 2025 and signed minor league contracts with the Yankees for the 2026 season: INF/OF Seth Brown, RHP Dylan Coleman, RHP Alexander Cornielle, OF Kenedy Corona, RHP Yovanny Cruz, INF Paul DeJong, RHP Drake Fellows, RHP Bradley Hanner, C Payton Henry, RHP Adam Kloffenstein, INF/OF Marco Luciano, RHP Travis MacGregor, INF/OF Ernesto Martínez Jr., INF Jonathan Ornelas, C Miguel Palma, C Ali Sánchez and INF Zack Short.

One NRI – RHP Michael Arias – re-signed with the Yankees for 2026 after playing for the organization at some point during the 2025 season. Eight other players in the Yankees organization were also extended invitations to big league camp: RHP Brendan Beck, LHP Kyle Carr, RHP Harrison Cohen, RHP Carson Coleman, OF Duke Ellis, RHP Ben Hess, RHP Carlos Lagrange and INF George Lombard Jr.

Additionally, C Abrahan Gutierrez was selected by the Yankees in the second round of the Triple-A Phase of the 2025 Rule 5 Draft from the Athletics.

The 27 NRIs consist of 14 pitchers (one left-hander, 13 right-handers), four catchers, two outfielders, four infielders and three infielder/outfielders. Twelve of these players have accrued Major League service time: DeJong (8 years, 57 days), Brown (5 years, 5 days), Short (2 years, 70 days), D. Coleman (1 year, 78 days), Sánchez (1 year, 57 days), C. Coleman (1 year), Ornelas (111 days), Luciano (92 days), Henry (66 days), Ellis (37 days), Corona (12 days) and Kloffenstein (1 day).

Arias, 24, has spent parts of five minor league seasons in the Chicago Cubs (2021-24) and the Yankees (2025) organizations, going 14-17 with nine saves and a 4.04 ERA (211.2IP, 178H, 109R/95ER, 152BB, 263K, 14HR) in 120 career games (35 starts). The right-handed pitcher combined to go 3-0 with one save and a 2.73 ERA (29.2IP, 23H, 13R/9ER, 17BB, 36K, 2HR) in 23 games (three starts) with the FCL Yankees, Single-A Tampa, High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset in 2025. He was acquired by the Yankees from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for cash considerations on January 15, 2025. He was non-tendered by the Yankees on November 21, 2025 and was then re-signed as a minor league free agent on November 22, 2025. The Santo Domingo D.R., native was originally signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as a non-drafted free agent on July 4, 2018.

Beck, 27, has gone 13-6 with a 2.99 ERA (165.1IP, 127H, 57R/55ER, 43BB, 163K, 16HR) in 36 games (34 starts) over two minor league seasons in the Yankees organization (2023, ’25). The right-handed pitcher went 13-5 with a 3.36 ERA (131.1IP, 103H, 51R/49ER, 36BB, 123K, 14HR) in 26 combined games (24 starts) with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2025. He led Yankees farmhands in wins and WHIP (1.06), ranked fourth in innings pitched and starts, fifth in strikeouts, sixth in ERA and seventh in opponents’ batting average (.214). The La Jolla, Calif., native was originally selected by the Yankees in the second round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of Stanford University.

Brown, 33, has spent parts of seven Major League seasons with the Athletics (2019-25), batting .226 (371-for-1,641) with 180R, 79 doubles, 8 triples, 74HR, 233RBI, 145BB and 24SB in 568 career games. He has appeared defensively in his career at right field (197G/149GS), left field (172G/107GS), first base (159G/119GS) and centerfield (28G/22GS). The left-handed batter batted .185 (12-for-38) with 6R, 2 doubles, 1HR, 3RBI, 9BB and 1SB in 38 games over two stints with the Athletics (3/28-5/23 and 6/6-26) last season. Brown was designated for assignment on May 23 and was outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas on May 25. Brown was released by the Athletics on June 26 and was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as a minor league free agent on July 4. He hit .291/.381/.544 (30-for-103) with 17R, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 6HR, 21RBI and 14BB in 26 games with Triple-A Reno and was released by Arizona on August 10. Brown was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on January 18, 2026. The Klamath Falls, Ore., native was originally selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 19th round of the 2025 First-Year Player Draft out of Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho.).

Carr, 23, has gone 9-15 with one complete game (one shutout) and a 3.57 ERA (237.0IP, 192H, 118R/94ER, 110BB, 212K, 13HR) in 49 starts over two minor league seasons in the Yankees organization. The left-hander made 25 combined starts with High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset in 2025, going 8-7 with one shutout and a 2.64 ERA (133.0IP, 95H, 48R/39ER, 55BB, 117K, 8HR). Among Yankees farmhands, he ranked third in ERA, starts, innings pitched and WHIP (1.13), was tied for third in opponents’ batting average (.199), tied for sixth in wins and seventh in strikeouts. Carr was named the South Atlantic League “Pitcher of the Month” for July after going 2-0 with one shutout and a 0.37 ERA (24.1IP, 15H, 2R/1ER, 6BB, 26K) in four starts. He was also named the South Atlantic League “Pitcher of the Year” and selected as a South Atlantic League Postseason All-Star and a High Class A All-Star by Baseball America. The La Jolla, Calif., native was selected by the Yankees in the third round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of Palomar College (Calif.).

Cohen, 26, has gone 11-5 with seven saves and a 2.42 ERA (130.0IP, 81H, 39R/35ER, 65BB, 155K, 7HR) over 103 career games (two starts) in three minor league seasons in the Yankees organization. The right-hander went 3-2 with five saves and a 1.76 ERA (51.0IP, 26H, 11R/10ER, 30BB, 59K, 1HR) in 49 combined games (one start) with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2025. Cohen led Yankees farmhands in appearances and was tied for sixth in saves. The New Hyde Park, N.Y., native was signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on August 15, 2022.

C. Coleman, 27, has spent parts of three minor league seasons in the Yankees organization (2021-22, ’25), going 4-6 with 26 saves and a 3.27 ERA (115.2IP, 80H, 47R/42ER, 47BB, 159K, 5HR) in 92 career games (two starts). The right-handed pitcher recorded two saves with a 1.59 ERA and did not record a decision (17.0IP, 8H, 4R/3ER, 2BB, 15K, 0HR) in 17 combined appearances (two starts) with the FCL Yankees, Single-A Tampa, High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset last season. The Lexington, Ky., native was signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on June 14, 2020.

D. Coleman, 29, has spent parts of four Major League seasons with the Kansas City Royals (2021-23) and Houston Astros (2024), going 5-4 with a 3.84 ERA (93.2IP, 70H, 46R/40ER, 58BB, 100K, 8HR) in 97 career games (one start). The right-handed pitcher was signed by the Baltimore Orioles as a minor league free agent on February 8, 2025, and went 2-0 with a 4.91 ERA (14.2IP, 8ER) and 14K in 11 combined appearances with Double-A Chesapeake and Triple-A Norfolk. He was released by Baltimore on May 16. The Potosi, Mo., native was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the fourth round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Missouri State University.

Cornielle, 24, has gone 26-27 with a 4.01 ERA (494.1IP, 422H, 243R/220ER, 225BB, 534K, 47HR) in 110 career games (95 starts) over six minor league seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers (2019, 21-25) organization. The right-hander made 29 combined starts with Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville in 2025, going 5-9 with a 3.81 ERA (137.0IP, 116H, 65R/58ER, 71BB, 135K, 15HR). His 29 starts were tied for the most among all minor leaguers last season. Cornielle also ranked among Brewers farmhands in strikeouts (first), starts (first), innings pitched (second), opponents’ BA (.228, third), ERA (fourth) and WHIP (1.36, eighth) this past season. He was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on December 17, 2025. The Santo Domingo, D.R., native was originally signed by the Milwaukee Brewers as a non-drafted free agent on June 15, 2019.

Corona, 25, has spent parts of six minor league seasons in the New York Mets (2019) and Houston Astros (2021-25) organizations, hitting .249/.335/.402 (500-for-2,008) with 322R, 97 doubles, 18 triples, 58HR, 248RBI, 229BB and 143SB in 563 career games. The outfielder made his Major League debut with Houston in 2025, appearing in three games (0-for-2, 2BB). Corona spent the majority of last season with Triple-A Sugar Land, hitting .220 (83-for-377) with 50R, 13 doubles, 3 triples, 7HR, 36RBI, 46BB and 18SB in 121 games. He was listed as the “Best Defensive Outfielder” in the Astros minor league system according to Baseball America. Following the season, he played in 22 games with the Águilas del Zulia in the Venezuelan Winter League. The Maracaibo, Venezuela, native was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on December 24, 2025. He was originally signed by the New York Mets as a non-drafted free agent on April 6, 2019.

Cruz, 26, has gone 13-13 with seven saves and a 3.49 ERA (252.2IP, 208H, 125R/98ER, 119BB, 288K, 16HR) in 116 career games (30 starts) in the Chicago Cubs (2017-19, ’22-23), San Diego Padres (2024) and Boston Red Sox (2025) organizations. The right-handed pitcher spent the entire 2025 season with Double-A Portland, going 2-4 with six saves and a 3.03 ERA (59.1IP, 34H, 24R/20ER, 44BB, 72K, 5HR) in 34 relief outings. Cruz ranked among Red Sox farmhands in saves (tied for third) and appearances (tied for eighth). Following the season, he appeared in 15 games for the Gigantes del Cibao in the Dominican Winter League, going 3-0 with a 0.48 ERA (18.2IP, 8H, 1R/ER, 6BB, 15K, 1HR). The San Francisco de Macorís, D.R., native was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on November 8, 2025. He was originally signed by the Chicago Cubs as a non-drafted free agent on August 29, 2016.

DeJong, 32, has spent parts of nine Major League seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2017-23), Toronto Blue Jays (2023), San Francisco Giants (2023), Chicago White Sox (2024), Kansas City Royals (2024) and Washington Nationals (2025), hitting .229/.294/.416 (723-for-3,164) with 413R, 147 doubles, 4 triples, 146HR, 423RBI, 247BB and 29SB in 925 career games. He has appeared defensively in his career at shortstop (794G/746GS), third base (74G/70GS), second base (35G/31GS) and first base (1GS). The 2019 National League All-Star signed a one-year Major League contract with the Washington Nationals on February 17, 2025, and batted .228 (44-for-193) with 18R, 10 doubles, 6HR, 23RBI, 11BB and 4SB in 57 games last season. DeJong was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on January 8, 2026. The Orlando, Fla., native was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 38th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign. He was then selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft out of Illinois State University.

Ellis, 28, has spent parts of five minor league seasons in the Chicago White Sox (2021-24), New York Mets (2024), Seattle Mariners (2024), and Yankees (2024-25) organizations, hitting .249 (287-for-1,154) with 199R, 47 doubles, 7 triples, 22HR, 109RBI, 127BB and 180SB in 359 career games. In 78 combined games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the FCL Yankees and High-A Hudson Valley in 2025, he batted .305/.369/.463 (62-for-203) with 37R, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 5HR, 26RBI, 20BB and 40SB. The outfielder was tied for third among Yankees farmhands in stolen bases. He was claimed off waivers by the Yankees on August 26, 2024. The Shreveport, La., native was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the 20th round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign. He then signed with Chicago-AL as a non-drafted free agent on June 19, 2020.

Fellows, 27, has gone 13-13 with a 5.00 ERA (210.2IP, 205H, 123R/117ER, 107BB, 184K, 19HR) in 73 career games (39 starts) over four minor league seasons in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization (2021, ’23-25). The right-handed pitcher spent the entire 2025 season with Triple-A Indianapolis, going 9-6 with a 4.41 ERA (112.1IP, 110H, 58R/55ER, 46BB, 94K, 11HR) in 33 games (19 starts). He ranked among Pirates farmhands in wins (tied for first), innings pitched (fourth) and strikeouts (ninth). Fellows was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on December 12, 2025. The Lawrenceburg, Ind., native was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the sixth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of Vanderbilt University.

Gutierrez, 26, has spent parts of eight minor league seasons in the Atlanta Braves (2017), Philadelphia Phillies (2018-21) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2021-25) organizations, hitting .261/.346/.370 (439-for-1,683) with 208R, 89 doubles, 4 triples, 29HR, 215RBI, 196BB and 12SB in 471 career games. The catcher batted .235 (24-for-102) with 11R, 1 double, 1HR, 6RBI and 9BB in 32 combined games with Triple-A Indianapolis and Single-A Bradenton in 2025. Following the season, he played in two games for the Tiburones de la Guaira in the Venezuelan Winter League. Gutierrez was released by the Pirates on August 5, 2025, and signed with the Athletics as minor league free agent on December 4, 2025. He was selected by the Yankees from the Athletics in the second round of the Minor League Phase of the 2025 Rule 5 Draft. The Caracas, Venezuela, native was originally signed by the Atlanta Braves as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2016.

Hanner, 26, has gone 31-22 with 21 saves and a 4.25 ERA (296.2IP, 250H, 162R/140ER, 156BB, 342K, 28HR) in 203 career games (two starts) over five minor league seasons in the Minnesota Twins (2019, ’21-22) and Cleveland Guardians (2023-25) organizations. The right-hander spent the entire 2025 season with Triple-A Columbus, going 4-4 with two saves and a 4.74 ERA (49.1IP, 45H, 28R/26ER, 25BB, 62K, 13HR) in 42 relief appearances. Hanner was tied for second among Guardians farmhands in appearances. He was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on December 11, 2025. The Fairfax Va., native was originally selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 21st round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of Patrick & Henry Community College (Va.).

Henry, 28, has played in 20 career Major League games over two seasons with the Miami Marlins (2021-22), hitting .186 (8-for-43) with 2R, 1 double, 4RBI and 6BB. The catcher has batted .253/.332/.405 (497-for-1,965) with 268R, 99 doubles, 5 triples, 63HR, 306RBI, 176BB and 4SB in 556 career games over nine minor league seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers (2016-19, ’21, ’23), Miami Marlins (2021-22), Toronto Blue Jays (2024) and Philadelphia Phillies (2025) organizations. Henry batted .247/.324/.412 (60-for-243) with 35R, 7 doubles, 11HR, 47RBI, 21BB and 1SB in 66 combined games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley and High-A Jersey Shore in 2025. He was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on December 13, 2025. The American Fork, Utah, native was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft.

Hess, 23, made his professional debut with Yankees in 2025, going 7-4 with one complete game (5.0IP) and a 3.22 ERA (103.1IP, 65H, 43R/37ER, 46BB, 139K, 3HR) in 22 combined starts with High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset. He ranked among Yankees farmhands in strikeouts (third), starts (tied for seventh) and innings pitched (eighth). Following the season, Hess was named by Baseball America as the No. 5 prospect in the Yankees organization and was named by the publication as having the “Best Slider” among Yankees farmhands. He was also tabbed as the No. 5 prospect in the organization according to MLB Pipeline. The Moline, Ill., native was selected by the Yankees in the first round (26th overall) of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Alabama.

Kloffenstein, 25, has made one career Major League appearance with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2024 (1.0IP). Over parts of seven minor league seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays (2018-19, ’21-23, ‘25) and St. Louis Cardinals (2023-24) organizations, he has gone 26-38 with one save, one complete game and a 4.66 ERA (587.2IP, 554H, 342R/304ER, 283BB, 609K, 77HR) in 127 career games (122 starts). The right-handed pitcher went 2-9 with one save and a 5.66 ERA (90.2IP, 98H, 67R/57ER, 46BB, 103K, 20HR) in 21 combined games (18 starts) with the FCL Blue Jays, Single-A Dunedin and Triple-A Buffalo in 2025. He ranked 10th in strikeouts among Blue Jays farmhands last season. Kloffenstein was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on December 19, 2025. The Houston, Tex., native was originally selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the third round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Magnolia High School (Tex.).

Lagrange, 22, has spent parts of four minor league seasons in the Yankees organization (2022-25), going 11-10 with a 4.05 ERA (215.2IP, 140H, 107R/97ER, 125BB, 301K, 14HR) in 56 career appearances (52 starts). In 2025, the right-handed pitcher went 11-8 with a 3.53 ERA (120.0IP, 82H, 51R/47ER, 62BB, 168K, 8HR) in 24 combined games (23 starts) with High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset. Among Yankees farmhands, he ranked first in opponents’ BA (.191), second in strikeouts, was tied for fourth in winning percentage (.579), tied for fifth in starts and WHIP (1.20), sixth in innings pitched and eighth in ERA. He was named the Eastern League’s “Pitcher of the Month” for July after going 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA (21.1IP, 7H, 3R/ER, 11BB, 31K, 1HR) in four games (three starts). Following the season, Lagrange was tabbed by Baseball America as the No. 4 prospect in the Yankees organization and rated as having the “Best Fastball” and “Best Changeup” in the Yankees system. He was also rated by MLB Pipeline as the No. 79 overall prospect. The Bayaguana, D.R., native was signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on February 3, 2022.

Lombard Jr., 20, has spent three minor league seasons in the Yankees organization (2023-25), batting .236 (223-for-943) with 155R, 59 doubles, 7 triples, 14HR, 100RBI, 161BB and 78SB in 255 career games. The right-handed batter hit .235/.367/.381 (111-for-473) with 90R, 32 doubles, 5 triples, 9HR, 49RBI, 87BB and 35SB in 132 combined games with High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset in 2025. He ranked among Yankees farmhands in walks (first), runs scored (second), doubles (tied for second), triples (tied for fourth), stolen bases (fifth), extra-base hits (46, sixth) and total bases (180, eighth). Lombard Jr. was named to the American League roster for the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta on July 12, starting the game at 2B (1-for-2, 1R, 1 double, 1BB, 1SB). Following the season, he was tabbed as the No. 1 prospect in the Yankees organization by Baseball America and the No. 32 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He was also rated by the publication as the “Best Defensive Infielder” and having the “Best Strike-Zone Discipline” in the Yankees organization. The Miami, Fla., native was originally selected by the Yankees in the first round (26th overall) of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft.

Luciano, 24, has spent parts of two Major League seasons with the San Francisco Giants (2023-24), batting .217 (25-for-115) with 14R, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 3RBI, 11BB and 1SB in 41 career games. He has appeared defensively at shortstop (22G/19GS) and second base (9G/7GS). In 2025, he batted .214 (99-for-462) with 76R, 21 doubles, 1 triple, 23HR, 66RBI, 85BB and 10SB in 125 games with Triple-A Sacramento. The right-handed batter was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates from the Giants on December 5, 2025. He was designated for assignment by the Pirates on December 19, 2025, and claimed off waivers by Baltimore from Pittsburgh on January 7, 2026. Luciano was then designated for assignment by Baltimore on January 15, 2026, and claimed off waivers by the Yankees on January 22, 2026. The San Francisco de MacorÍs, D.R., native was originally signed by the Giants as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2018.

MacGregor, 28, has spent parts of eight minor league seasons in the Pittsburgh Pirates (2016-18, ’21-23), Los Angeles Angels (2024), Texas Rangers (2025) and Milwaukee Brewers (2025) organizations, going 20-37 with eight saves and a 4.72 ERA (526.1IP, 526H, 318R/276ER, 230BB, 534K, 52HR) in 229 career games (68 starts). Last season, the right-handed pitcher signed with the Texas Rangers as a minor league free agent on February 3, 2025, and appeared in 36 games with Double-A Frisco, going 0-3 with two saves and a 5.31 ERA (40.2IP, 34H, 26R/24ER, 26BB, 44K, 1HR). He was released by Texas on July 27. MacGregor was then signed by the Milwaukee Brewers as a minor league free agent on August 9 and went 0-3 with three saves and a 3.48 ERA (10.1IP, 15H, 6R/4ER, 2BB, 11K, 2HR) in 11 appearances with Double-A Biloxi. He signed with the Yankees as a minor league free agent on December 12, 2025. The Tarpon Springs, Fla., native was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft out of East Lake High School (Fla.).

Martínez Jr., 26, has batted .262/.362/.426 (471-for-1,801) with 265R, 102 doubles, 13 triples, 56HR, 263RBI, 246BB and 86SB in 527 career games over eight minor league seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers organization (2017-19, ’21-25). The infielder/outfielder spent the entire 2025 season with Triple-A Nashville, hitting .255 (67-for-263) with 40R, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 6HR, 40RBI, 39BB and 1SB in 80 games. He was named the International League “Player of the Week” for 4/7-13 after batting .529/.619/.882 (9-for-17) with 4R, 2HR, 8RBI and 4BB in five games. Following the season, batted .385 (5-for-13) with 3R, 1 double, 2BB and 2SB in six games for the Estrellas Orientales in the Dominican Winter League. Martinez was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on December 13, 2025. The Antilla, Cuba, native was originally signed by the Milwaukee Brewers as a non-drafted free agent on May 20, 2017.

Ornelas, 25, has batted .208 (11-for-53) with 4R, 2 doubles, 3RBI and 3BB in 32 games over three Major League seasons with the Texas Rangers (2023-25) and Atlanta Braves (2025). Over seven minor league seasons in the Rangers (2018-19, ’21-25) and Braves (2025) organizations, the right-handed batter has hit .258/.338/.373 (683-for-2,644) with 414R, 106 doubles, 21 triples, 52HR, 284RBI, 288BB and 84SB in 695 career games. Ornelas played in six combined games with Texas (4G) and Atlanta (2G) in 2025, hitting .222 (2-for-9) with 1R and 1BB. He was signed to a Major League contract with Texas on March 5. In 30 games for Triple-A Round Rock, he batted .204 (20-for-98) with 9R, 3 doubles, 7RBI, 18BB and 3SB. He was designated for assignment by Texas on May 19. Ornelas was then acquired by the Atlanta Braves in exchange for cash considerations on May 24. In 85 games with Triple-A Gwinnett last season, he batted .193 (57-for-295) with 35R, 3 doubles, 3 triples, 10HR, 28RBI, 33BB and 6SB.
