Willie Mays - Celebration of Life
A Public Celebration of Life for San Francisco Giants Legend and Hall of Famer Willie Mays
will be Held on Monday, July 8 at Oracle Park
The San Francisco Giants and the family of Willie Mays will remember the tremendous talent, keen intellect, remarkable showmanship and boundless joy of the Giants Legend and Hall of Famer who passed away peacefully on June 18 at the age of 93. The public celebration of life is open to all fans and friends of Willie Mays - the “Say Hey Kid.”
WHEN/WHERE: Monday, July 8 at 4 p.m. Oracle Park - 24 Willie Mays Plaza, San Francisco
- Gates Open: 3 p.m.
- Program: 4 - ~6 p.m.
ADMISSION: Admission is free. No registration required.
ENTRANCE: Enter through the gates at Willie Mays Plaza on 3rd & King St.
TRANSPORTATION:
- Public Transit: Oracle Park is accessible by public transit, bike or foot. Learn more.
- Biking: Complimentary Bike Valet will be available from 2:30-6:30 p.m. along the Portwalk adjacent to McCovey Cove.
- Parking: Lot A ($12) and 153 Townsend ($16) will be open and available to the public. Cashiers will be onsite starting at 1 p.m. or reservations can be made in advance via SpotHero. Learn more.
ADA ACCOMODATIONS:
- The Parking Lot Accessibility Shuttle will run between Lot A and the ballpark from 2-7 p.m.
- Elevator Access: The Suite Lobby doors at the base of the clock tower in Willie Mays Plaza will be open for guests with accessible needs to use the elevators.
- Seating: ADA seating will be available throughout the Lower Bowl.
CONCESSIONS: Bottled water, pretzels and popcorn will be available for purchase in Sections 110 and 126.
WILLIE MAYS EXPERIENCE: This one-of-a-kind immersive exhibit featuring rarely-seen photographs, artifacts and video that chronicle the life of the greatest baseball player of all time will be open from 12 - 4 p.m. Learn more.
LIVE STREAM: For those unable to attend, NBC Sports Bay Area and KNBR will be broadcasting the program, with no commercial interruptions.
