Bobby Evans returned to the Giants as a senior advisor to the president of baseball operations in 2024 after spending 25 seasons in the Giants organization in different roles. During his two tenures, he’s helped the organization capture eight Postseason berths, four World Series appearances, three Championships, two Topps Organization of the Year honors and one Baseball America Organization of the Year nod.
During his four-year tenure as GM from 2015-2018, Evans acquired some of the game’s top players via free agency or trade, including two-time All-Star Johnny Cueto, 2014 All-Star Jeff Samardzija, three-time All-Star Evan Longoria and 2013 NL MVP Andrew McCutchen.
Prior to being promoted to general manager, Evans first joined the Giants in 1994 as an administrative assistant, minor leagues. He was later promoted to director of minor league operations in 1998, director of player personnel in 2005 and vice president of baseball operations in January 2009. Evans is a 1991 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he received the John Motley Morehead Scholarship Award.
