Roscoe Mapps (he/him) is in his 11th season with the San Francisco Giants, where he serves as Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. A strategist and social impact leader, he brings more than 25 years of experience spanning sports, public affairs, talent strategy, political campaigns, and civic coalition-building.
Roscoe joined the Giants in 2015 as campaign manager for San Francisco Proposition D, the ballot initiative that advanced the Mission Rock development project through the city’s entitlement process and earned 74% voter approval — the highest margin for a private development project in San Francisco history. He later served as Vice President of External Affairs and Director of Government Relations, helping secure significant commitments tied to the project, including 40% below-market-rate housing, a $1 million workforce development program, and expanded contracting opportunities for small, local, minority-, and women-owned businesses.
Roscoe began his career in Fortune 500 workforce and talent strategy before expanding into national and global advocacy work, including serving as a Regional Field Director for Bono’s ONE Campaign and organizing on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he has served on boards including SPUR, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA. Roscoe has received numerous recognitions for his leadership and community impact, including recognition on the Outsports Power 100 and receiving the Bayard Rustin Award for Community Leadership & Engagement.
