BALTIMORE -- The Orioles' lengthy list of injury concerns continues to grow more than a quarter into the 2026 season.
On Tuesday, outfielder Dylan Beavers was scratched from the O's lineup with right oblique discomfort ahead of the second matchup of their three-game series against the Yankees at Camden Yards. The news came shortly after left-handed reliever Grant Wolfram was placed on the 15-day injured list with a low back strain.
Right-hander Tyler Wells was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to take Wolfram's spot in Baltimore's bullpen.
It is not yet known when Beavers began to feel discomfort in his right oblique, and the severity of the ailment is also not yet clear. The 24-year-old outfielder didn't appear in Monday's series opener vs. New York, having last played in Sunday's 2-1 win over the A's.
Beavers is hitting .243 with seven doubles, two home runs, 12 RBIs and a .699 OPS in 33 games this year, his first full big league season. He was replaced in the Orioles' lineup by Colton Cowser, who started in center field and batted seventh.
The O's lineup also featured Samuel Basallo at designated hitter a night after he was scratched with right knee discomfort that prevented him from playing in a 3-2 win over the Yankees. In Basallo's absence, Coby Mayo clubbed a go-ahead three-run home run in the seventh inning to lift Baltimore to victory.
Wolfram is the 18th Orioles player to spend time on the IL this season and became the 12th currently sidelined. The 29-year-old left-hander hadn't pitched in a game since last Wednesday in Miami. He has a 4.85 ERA in 16 outings this year.
There was some positive injury news for the O's (19-23 entering Tuesday), though, as left-hander Trevor Rogers was reinstated from the 15-day IL to start Tuesday's contest vs. the Yanks. The 28-year-old hadn't pitched since April 25, as he was on the injured list due to an illness.
Right-hander Jose Espada was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Rogers on Baltimore's 26-man active roster.
