Buck won't make assumptions about Biogenesis

HOUSTON -- Reacting to the news that Major League Baseball may be pursuing suspension of approximately 20 players involved with the Miami-area Biogenesis clinic founded by Anthony Bosch, Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he'd wait to pass judgment.

"A lot of the things like this, let it play out," Showalter said of the news, which was broken by ESPN on Tuesday night. "See what's real and what's not. It's very obvious that it is something they are not going to treat lightly, and I also have a lot of confidence that the people that are looking into it will get done what needs to get done.

"I'm more concerned [that] everybody's trying to take care of their own backyard. You try to do everything possible to try to educate your people. We'll see what we are actually talking about. I'll leave it [in Major League Baseball's] hands."

Danny Valencia is the only player on the O's roster mentioned in reports concerning Biogenesis. Upon arriving at O's camp during Spring Training, Valencia refuted any connection with the clinic, stating he had never heard of it.

"We'll let it run its course," Showalter said. "I think, like a lot of things in life, you're not really sure what the endgame is going to be. You look at things how you would do it personally, but everybody's different, from different backgrounds, different demographics. We'll see."
