Yanks, Cloudbreak Group donate to Sandy relief

The Yankees and Cloudbreak Group will donate 20 percent of all sales at nyyankeesfragrance.com during November and December to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Sandy relief.

Cloudbreak Group guarantees at least $10,000 to the efforts, in addition to the 20 percent from website sales.

"We have had an overwhelming response since the launch of the New York Yankees fragrance collection and are pleased that our loyal fans in the Tri-State area have embraced these products," Cloudbreak Group CEO Thomas Butkiewicz said in a release. "As a member of the Yankees family, we recognize the needs of these individuals during this difficult time and are proud to help support them."

The gesture is part of the Yankees' commitment to help rebuild the lives of those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The organization has donated $500,000 to the American Red Cross to support efforts related to the storm. Yankee Stadium's Gate 2 also was recently converted to a collection hub where non-perishable food and household items can be donated.

"We are very thankful to the Cloudbreak Group, and proud of our partner, for supporting the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts through its commitment to the American Red Cross," Yankees senior vice president of corporate sales and sponsorships Michael J. Tusiani said.

The fragrances, "New York Yankees" and "New York Yankees for Her," officially launched in April. After being exclusively available at Yankee Stadium and select stores, sales have expanded into international markets and can be purchased at the aforementioned website.
