Artist Statement:
This year's Black Heritage Day Jersey honors the pioneering player who broke the color barrier for the Cardinals in 1954, Tom Alston. He is represented by the number 54 on the back of the jersey. The cream base with brown pinstripes and sleeves reflects a timeless, classic baseball aesthetic and the custom heritage pattern, featuring varied shapes and shades of brown, celebrates the diversity and richness within Black identity. The sleeve patch incorporates red, yellow, green, and black with a baseball, paying tribute to traditional Pan-African colors and the impact of Black culture in baseball.
Please note: The Black Heritage jersey is only available with the purchase of a special Theme Ticket. All Theme Ticket purchases will come with a game ticket that indicates the item and/or size of Theme item included. Theme Tickets no longer feature a separate voucher. The ticket should be redeemed at the pre-game distribution for the Theme item. Size exchanges will not be available at distribution. Only fans that present their Theme Ticket at the distribution will be eligible to receive the item. You may pick up your item at Budweiser Terrace, on the Terrace level across from section 431, from 11:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
