Morse remains out with sore wrist

OAKLAND -- Michael Morse was out of the Mariners' starting lineup for the second straight game as the right fielder continues to recover from an injured left wrist.

"Nothing severe," acting manager Robby Thompson said. "A couple swings, though, he's kind of grimaced and held his wrist here as of late. We'll give him another day and see where he's at tomorrow."

Morse is batting .161 in his last 14 games since returning from the disabled list following a month-long issue with a strained hamstring. On the Mariners' current road trip, Morse has hit just 2-for-16.

Michael Saunders started in right field on Monday.
