Orioles acquire minor league CA Chris O'Brien and RHP Ben Rowen from Los Angeles Dodgers

The Orioles today announced that they have acquired minor league CA CHRIS O'BRIEN and RHP BEN ROWEN from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for RHP RYAN WEBB, minor league CA BRIAN WARD and Competitive Balance Round B pick (74th Overall) in the 2015 First-Year Player Draft.

O'Brien, 25, batted .266/.341/.438 with seven home runs and a career-high 53 RBI in his first full season at the Double-A level with Chattanooga in 2014. The son of 15-year MLB veteran CHARLIE O'BRIEN, Chris has hit .251/.316/.403 with 23 home runs and 158 RBI, and has thrown out 107-of-356 would-be base stealers (30 percent) in 315 career minor league games

Rowen, 26, went 3-0 with a 3.45 ERA (47.0IP, 18ER) in 34 games with Triple-A Round Rock in 2014. The right-hander pitched in eight games for the Texas Rangers last season, posting a 4.15 ERA (8.2IP, 4ER). Over 177 career minor league games, Rowen has gone 21-5 with a 1.72 ERA (262.0IP, 50ER) with 214 strikeouts and 40 saves. 

Webb, 29, went 3-3 with a 3.83 ERA (49.1IP, 21ER) in 51 games with the Orioles in 2014.

Ward, 29, hit .242/.343/.299 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 72 games between Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk in 2014.
