We are excited to begin our World Series championship defense run when the 2020 60-game schedule starts on Thursday, July 23. Since the full impact of the coronavirus pandemic is still unknown, playing games in an empty ballpark is currently the best course of action to ensure the continued health and safety of our players, staff, employees, fans and community. As such, tickets for 2020 baseball games and events at Nationals Park are not on sale, at least at this time.

We will continue to monitor ongoing events and evaluate best practices and precautions as recommended by public health experts. We will make an announcement when policy changes allow fans to attend games and events at Nationals Park once again. We thank you for your patience, understanding, and for being a Nationals fan during this unprecedented time. To paraphrase the voice of the Washington Nationals, Bob Carpenter, we can’t wait to see… you... SOON!

*For 2020 buyers, your total credit is the value of tickets and parking passes that you purchased to 2020 Washington Nationals exhibition and regular season home games, less certain associated fees, plus 50%. Your total credit is valid for 2020 and 2021 regular seasons only. Additional restrictions and eligibility criteria apply. For full terms and conditions of the 2020 program, please visit www.nationals.com/CreditTerms.

**For new 2021 buyers, your bonus credit is equal to 50% of the amount paid towards tickets and parking passes for the 2021 season by October 1, 2020, less certain associated fees. Additional restrictions and eligibility criteria apply. For full terms and conditions of the New Buyer 50% Bonus Credit program, please visit www.nationals.com/BonusTerms.

2020 60-Game Schedule

When will the 2020 Major League Baseball regular season start?

The Nationals will begin the 2020 Major League Baseball season on Thursday, July 23, hosting the New York Yankees at Nationals Park.

The 2020 60-game schedule can be found here.

Will fans be able to attend games at Nationals Park during the 2020 season?

Since the full impact of the coronavirus pandemic is still unknown, playing games in an empty ballpark is currently the best course of action to ensure the continued health and safety of our players, staff, employees, fans and community. As such, tickets for 2020 baseball games and events at Nationals Park are not on sale, at least at this time.

We will continue to monitor ongoing events and evaluate best practices and precautions as recommended by public health experts, and we will make an announcement when policy changes allow fans to attend games and events at Nationals Park once again.

How has the schedule been adjusted for the 2020 season?

The original 2020 schedule that was in effect prior to the coronavirus pandemic has been replaced by a new schedule, and is no longer applicable.

The 2020 60-game regular season schedule includes 30 home games played at Nationals Park. In order to minimize travel, the Nationals’ modified schedule will include 10 games against each National League East Division opponent (Atlanta Braves, Miami Marlins, New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies), along with 20 games against opponents from the American League East (Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays).

The 2020 Postseason format will be similar to previous years. 10 clubs will qualify for the Postseason, including 5 clubs from each league. Each of the 6 division champions will earn a Postseason berth and the 2 non-division winners with the best records in each league will earn Wild Card berths.

What is the plan for Summer Camp presented by Camping World?

The vast majority of Major League Baseball clubs will conduct Summer Camp at their home ballparks under the rules and guidelines outlined by the health and safety protocols that were agreed upon by Major League Baseball and the MLBPA. Players are expected to report to camp by July 1. In order to mitigate health risks, Summer Camp will not be open to fans. The Nationals are scheduled to host exhibition games against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 18 and the Baltimore Orioles on July 21 – these games will not be open to the public.

Health & Safety

How does MLB plan to ensure players are safe?

Players, coaches and support staff will undergo COVID-19 testing upon arrival at Summer Camp, and they will only be permitted to begin workouts if they test negative for COVID-19. Players, coaches and support staff will be tested for COVID-19 every other day during camp, the regular season and Postseason. Any individual who tests positive will be quarantined, and two negative tests will be required before they can return. Players will also receive temperature/symptom checks at least twice per day, and antibody testing will be conducted approximately once per month.

What precautionary steps are you taking at Nationals Park?

While 2020 games at Nationals Park will be played without fans, at least initially, the safety of fans and employees is of the utmost importance to the Nationals organization as we prepare for the potential return of fans. We have regular communication with our front office employees, scouts, players and event staff to educate them on CDC protocols related to health & wellness and safety precautions. We are also in close contact with Levy Restaurants to ensure the safety of guests who will be dining at Nationals Park once the stadium reopens to host events. Since the start of 2020, we have enhanced our rigorous cleaning processes by increasing deep cleaning schedules at all of our facilities. We also plan to add additional hand sanitizer stations around Nationals Park, and to increase public awareness messages promoting good hygiene practices among employees and fans.
