NEW YORK -- will make his MLB debut this weekend at Yankee Stadium.

Gibson (the Orioles’ No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline) joined the O’s taxi squad in New York on Saturday, and manager Craig Albernaz announced that Gibson will be starting for the big league club Sunday. The 23-year-old right-hander will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk before the outing.

Gibson was scheduled to start for Norfolk on Sunday, which is also when Baltimore had an opening in its starting rotation.

The O’s rotation is currently missing left-hander Trevor Rogers (illness) and right-hander Dean Kremer (right quad strain). They’ve also lost righty Zach Eflin (Tommy John surgery) for the season.

Gibson was an undrafted free agent who signed with the Orioles in August 2023. The Newport News, Va., native reached Triple-A in ‘25, when he was also named Baltimore’s Jim Palmer Minor League Pitcher of the Year Award winner.

This year, Gibson has a 4.01 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings over six starts for the O’s.

The Orioles also made several bullpen moves on Saturday. They reinstated left-hander Dietrich Enns (left foot contusion) and recalled lefty Nick Raquet from Triple-A while optioning right-hander Tyler Wells to Norfolk and designating righty Albert Suárez for assignment.
