The Orioles beat the Tigers, 5-1, and secured their fifth series win of the season. They improved to 13-7, winning 13 of their first 20 games for just the third time in the 21st century (also 2017 and 2005). Kyle Gibson earned the win after tying a career-high with 11 strikeouts and extending the Orioles’ rotation’s scoreless streak to 29.2 innings. Each Orioles starter recorded a hit for the first time since August 6, 2022, and Yennier Cano earned his first career save. The O’s did not strike out in a game for the first time since August 8, 2010. They became the first team in MLB to not strike out in a game since 2017.

Cedric Mullins hit his second career grand slam, his first of the year, in the ninth inning.

April 26 – Red Sox vs. Orioles

The Orioles beat the Red Sox, 6-2, marking their first series win of the season against an AL East rival. Ramón Urías recorded a career-high four hits and a career-high-tying three runs scored. Yennier Cano retired the first 24 batters he faced this season, tying the club record set by Fred Holdsworth in 1976, and Cedric Mullins stole his 10th base, becoming the first O’s player to steal 10-or-more bases without being caught to begin a season since Brian Roberts and Corey Patterson each swiped 13 to start the 2006 campaign.
