O's have no last-minute agreements with picks

BALTIMORE -- The Orioles didn't have any last-minute agreements leading up to Friday's 5 p.m. ET deadline to sign players from June's First-Year Player Draft, with Baltimore able to ink 32 of the 41 players they selected.

Baltimore signed every one of its picks from the first 14 rounds, 15 total players, including its top pick, high school right-hander Hunter Harvey. The Orioles, whose final agreement was left-handed high schooler Daniel Ayers (25th round), signed all but two in the first 20 rounds, with high school shortstop Tyler Walsh (15th) and Cal Poly right-handed pitcher Reed Reilly the exceptions.

Overall, the Orioles signed 18 pitchers and 14 position players including three catchers in the first six rounds, in scouting director Gary Rajsich's second year with Baltimore. The Orioles top pick in last year's Draft, right-handed pitcher Kevin Gausman, has already had two separate stints in the big leagues in 2013.
