Nashville's Music Row Comes to the Ballpark

Thursday, March 1, 2018

The Orioles hosted the third annual "Nashville's Music Row Comes to the Ballpark" weekend March 1-4, 2018, bringing Orioles athletes and country music artists together to benefit local Sarasota and Nashville charities in support of young women and the arts. Events included a Nashville songwriters' benefit concert and workshops promoting music education, girls' empowerment, art, and wellness.

Performers included Lee Thomas Miller, three-time Grammy-nominated, CMA- and AMC award-winning songwriter; The Warren Brothers, Grammy-nominated and CMA award-winning songwriting duo and CMT reality series stars; Tina Parol, Disney Music Group and multi-genre hit songwriter; Margaret Valentine, Dreamlined Entertainment Group songwriter; and a host of special guests.

Attendees met Nashville songwriters and Orioles players at a pre-show VIP cocktail reception, then enjoyed an entertaining songwriter round. In this concept, made famous in Nashville and seen on the television show Nashville, the artists performed the songs they wrote while discussing their creative process.

This intimate setting gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the songs were written, while getting up close and personal with stars of the stage and the diamond in support of two terrific causes. Veteran MASN broadcaster Jim Hunter served as emcee for the event, which benefitted Girls Inc. and the Music Health Alliance.
